There are many ways to make a gift to the Thoroughbred Education and Research Foundation (TERF).
Below are some of the most common ways to make a gift.

Check Payable to: TERF c/o Chester County Community Foundation (The Lincoln Building, 28 West Market Street, West Chester, PA 19382)

Online Make a safe and secure gift to TERF as soon as the submit button is selected.

Appreciated Stock – The gift counts on the date the stock arrives in the TERF account. For wiring instructions and account information, contact Bob Ferguson at 610-696-4383 or [email protected].

Gifts through a QCD from IRA – If you are age 70½ or older, you may be eligible to make annual distributions of up to $100,000 per spouse, from IRAs directly to a qualifying charity/charities. QCD transfers count toward satisfying clients’ Required Minimum Distributions and avoid the income tax on those funds. Note: While QCD contributions may not be made to a donor advised fund per IRS regulations, they may be made to a non profit organization fund at the Chester County Community Foundation such as the TERF Fund.

Donor Advised Fund – A donor-advised fund is a simple, flexible and tax efficient way to give to your favorite charities, including TERF.  It also serves as a meaningful way to strengthen your family’s tradition of philanthropy.

Contact your DAF holder and request a grant distribution. Be sure to use Thoroughbred Education & Research Foundation’s EIN # 23-2773822. Indicate whether your gift is unrestricted or designated for a specific purpose. You can also designate TERF as a beneficiary for your donor-advised fund.

Plan Your Legacy – By including TERF in your will through your estate and long term financial plans, it will allow TERF to remain committed in promoting a culture of equine health and welfare advocacy.

Workplace Giving & Employer Matching – You can give to TERF through most workplace fundraising drives. Your employer may match your financial contribution to TERF, whether you give at work or on your own. Please contact your Human Resources Department for instructions.
